In 2014, we started with a dream

We set out to give children with physical disability the same opportunities as children without, and are using social welfare to help keep students in school and combat the discrimination of people with movement restrictions

After partnering with the Colombo Friend-in-Need Society, we began sponsoring educational grants for students who received treatment at the physical therapy center.

Interviews with staff keyed us in to an important fact- students with physical disability need more assistance than just receiving the prosthetic itself.

If a student's family cannot eat three meals a day because of the cost of special transportation to and from school, something has to give. Frequently, education is put on the back-burner in order to afford basic services.

We visited Sithum, one of the most in-need students at the clinic, at his home to learn more about the challenges that some children have had to face

It became clear that the social and economic challenges to many physically disabled students were far more difficult to overcome than the challenges posed by the disability itself
